BALANCE
When I was growing up in Beeville there was one hotel, The Kohler, downtown and it was owned and operated by a local couple. However it was the wife who ran the place because her husband sat in his limousine in front of the hotel yelling out the window to anyone going in that they shouldn't stay there. No one paid any attention to him though because either they had heard about him or the fact that it was the only hotel in town. Unfortunately, there was little happiness in that family. Their son was a nice guy but very obese. He used to throw great parties up in his suite on the second floor. He afforded his guests plenty of food and liquor but he didn't eat until the party was over because once he started he had trouble stopping. During one of these events he stepped out on the rear balcony and yelled out at the guys working below for them to be quieter. Unfortunately he leaned a bit too far and fell out landing on the cement mixer that was parked below. That was his last party.
