BIRD HUNTING
My previous post entitled "Balance" brought to mind a couple of other stories about the same lady, Anne, whose son was obese. She was quite a character and I remember seeing her arrive at church making quite a scene. She would stroll in waving to everyone saying "Hi, Toodles" with a big grin on her face.
One time she went to a dance at the country club wearing a very decollete dress. A friend of hers took her in to the ladies room and told her to turn the dress around, putting the low cut in back. It really looked a lot better and fit fine since Anne's back was about as big as her front.
(I am using names here because all this occurred over 80 years ago.)
That's not all.
My husband and I went bird hunting with Choppy and his wife one Saturday at his ranch. We set up watching for birds coming in to a tank. We were provided with supplies to keep us comfortable, such as a case of beer and camp stools. Choppy had to have two camp stools to sit on, one for each large buttock. We settled down to wait for the birds and soon a large flock came flying toward the pond. Choppy stood up and started firing rapidly, so low, fast and disorganized that we decided we should move away to prevent being in the line of fire. We picked up our little stools and trotted down away from where he was and settled down but it didn't help since direction meant nothing to him. We just went back to the pickup and waited until he quit shooting when he was almost halfway through the beer.
Forgot to tell you that he didn't have a bird dog, just a little Mexican boy to run retrieve the dead birds.
